Making an Object Transparent in Output

This is to make an object transparent in an output bitmap. An example use is to make a billboard of a tree, and the background to the tree is set to transparent in the output file.

  1. make a background object
  2. open Property Window of the object
  3. open "Col"
  4. choose Attribute "Alpha" in "Surface Properties" drop down list and set it to 1
  5. Render Settings Property Window /Channels/ Add "Alpha" (I think it's below multi reflection/refraction?) Yes
  6. File Renderer - Render to Targa RGBA.
